Sami Salo with Torn Achilles Tendon

The Vancouver Canucks have lost their strong defenseman Sami Salo, after he suffered an Achilles' tear. As a result, the native from Finland, Salo, cannot play hockey for an indefinite period of time. It was reported that Salo tore his Achilles tendon while he was engaged in hockey training.
A report from Finland, however, suggested that the 35 year old, Salo, will be unavailable to play for at least three months, while his Achilles tendon will recover. Salo is reputed as having scored 81 goals and 273 points in 665 NHL hockey games. In his last season, he achieved nine goals and 28 points in 68 games. This unfortunate injury could affect the Canuck's need to trade their defensemen, while Salo is in his final year of his hockey contract.
